Panama: Part 2

Panamania, continued...

After walking the streets of Bocas del Toro (above photo- see the bananas?) for a little while one afternoon, Justin and some researchers he's befriended (who just all happen to be German, but met for the first time in Panama-- weird) decide to go swimming off Isla Carenero. It's less than a ten-minute water taxi ride away, and since we've yet to even put our toes in the Caribbean we can't help but join in...

This island was so tropical it seemed fake. The waters were so blue and so clear, and the vegetation in some parts grew right up to the coast line. If it weren't for the mosquitoes, some might call this paradise.

Drew and Justin try out different poses for their first collaborative album. This is a choice pick.

Patacones!!! Wonderful greasy, golden medallions of pure crispy-starchy love. Thickly sliced unripe plantains, mashed, deep-fried, and lightly sprinkled with salt. This was our nightly snack at Restaurante Chitre for a mere 30¢ a serving. Más patacones, por favor!!!
